Meet Steve Folmar
Steve Folmar is a life long educator and public education supporter. Soon to be retired as an Associate Professor of Anthropology from Wake Forest University – Steve decided to give back to his community by running for WS/FCS District 2.
Steve’s commitment is to bring a student-first approach, deep commitment, strong work ethic, relevant expertise and ethical foundation to his service on the WS/FCS Board of Education.

A child’s education is not only a foundation to their future, but students are also the foundation to a strong community.
Our students deserve to be supported in a way that fosters their success. By providing the necessary supports and services including academic and emotional support, supplemental nutrition, extracurricular activities, physical and emotional safety, career counseling and more!

Creating a successful and thriving education system for students requires collaborating with those from all walks of life. Learning from one another can lead to the best solutions.

WS/FCS teachers and staff are fundamental in how our schools run and our students are supported. They should be supported as such.

Steve Folmar is not just here to serve the WS/FCS Board of Education, but also to be an active listener. Our students, parents, teachers, staff and community deserved to be listened to in order to best serve their needs.
